Northern Kin Sauna Company

Northern Kin Sauna Company is one of Vermont’s most distinctive and community-rooted mobile sauna experiences — stationed on Grand Isle in Lake Champlain and serving the greater Burlington area and beyond with private mobile sauna rentals and guided community sauna events. Founded by wellness practitioners who are deeply committed to both the traditional sauna practice and its social dimensions, Northern Kin brings authentic Finnish sauna culture to Vermont’s most beautiful outdoor settings.

The mobile sauna unit comfortably seats 8 guests (up to 12 for a sauna party) and is heated by a wood-burning stove to temperatures of 150 to 200°F over 1 to 2 hours — producing the authentic sweat experience that defines traditional Finnish bathing culture. Delivery, setup, and a full orientation are included with each rental, along with wood, bucket and ladle, and essential accessories. Northern Kin also offers guided community sauna events led by co-owner Grace, a UK-trained Sauna Master and Finnish-trained Sauna Healer. These events incorporate traditional Finnish and Estonian sauna rituals including Aufguss (aromatic steam infusion) and Saunotus — creating a deeply intentional, community-centered sauna experience that goes well beyond a simple heat session.

The company is a founding participant in Vermont’s growing sauna culture community, participating in events like the Vermont Sauna Festival and bringing the philosophy that sauna is a practice of care — for the body, for the land, and for one another — to new audiences across northern Vermont and beyond.
