East Burke Sauna Club operates on Route 114 in Burke, in the Northeast Kingdom — the three northeastern counties that Vermonters treat as a distinct place, and with reason.
The Kingdom is the emptiest, coldest and least developed part of the state. Essex County has fewer than six thousand people across six hundred square miles. Winters run long and severe. It is, by some distance, the part of Vermont where a sauna makes the most obvious sense, and the part with the fewest of them.
Burke sits below Burke Mountain, and Kingdom Trails runs through the town — over a hundred miles of singletrack across private land, assembled through agreements with roughly ninety landowners, and widely regarded as among the best mountain biking networks in the eastern United States.
The club framing suggests membership and regular attendance rather than drop-in visits, which fits both the practice and the community. Sauna rewards repetition, and a rural club serves people who live nearby rather than a passing trade.
Burke sits roughly twenty minutes from St. Johnsbury off I-91. Sessions run generous daily hours; confirm membership arrangements when booking.
