SWTHZ Watters Creek

SweatHouz at Watters Creek serves Allen, in the northern suburbs of the Dallas metroplex.

Allen sits along US 75 between Plano and McKinney, one of the fastest-growing municipalities in the country through the 2000s. Watters Creek is an open-air mixed-use development built around a restored creek and greenbelt, part of the same new-urbanist wave that produced Southlake Town Square and Legacy West in Plano.

The town is also known for Eagle Stadium, a high school football facility that cost sixty million dollars and seats eighteen thousand — a fact that says something about North Texas priorities.

The SweatHouz format is private suites containing an infrared sauna, a cold plunge and a rainfall shower, booked by the hour. Nothing is shared.

In North Texas the cold plunge does more of the work than the sauna. Summers run above 100°F for weeks, which limits appetite for a hot room, and winters are mild enough that contrast requires equipment rather than a door.

Watters Creek has extensive parking. Sessions book through the chain’s system; memberships carry across locations.
