Bring Me Sauna

Bring Me Sauna is a mobile operation based in Westerly, which means the sauna travels to a location rather than the other way round.

The mobile model addresses the central limitation of urban sauna facilities. The Finnish practice developed beside lakes because the cold immersion is not an accessory to the hot room — it is half the sequence — and no amount of engineering makes a plunge tub in a strip mall equivalent to a January pond. A trailer-mounted sauna can be towed to the water instead.

Westerly occupies Rhode Island’s southwestern corner on the Connecticut border, with Watch Hill at its tip and a long stretch of Atlantic beach along Misquamicut. It is well positioned for both the Rhode Island south coast and eastern Connecticut.

Mobile saunas are frequently wood-fired, which produces a softer heat than an electric element along with the smell of woodsmoke that many people regard as inseparable from the practice. The build quality tends to be high, since weight and space constraints force careful decisions about insulation and ventilation.
