White Mountain Sauna Haus in North Conway, New Hampshire is one of New England’s most exciting new sauna destinations — a Nordic-inspired contrast therapy studio that opened in January 2026 inside a beautifully renovated 1800s barn at 3358 White Mountain Highway, bringing authentic communal sauna culture to the heart of America’s most recently named best ski town. Co-founded by North Conway native and former ER nurse Levi Lucy — a lifelong sauna enthusiast with a carpentry background — and restaurateur Bryce Harrison, White Mountain Sauna Haus was born from a simple conviction: that the North Conway community deserved a place to sweat together, cool down, and connect.
The facility features two large traditional Finnish wood-stove saunas — one accommodating up to 20 guests and one up to 12 — heated to 175 to 205°F, with steam (löyly) created by pouring water over heated rocks in the authentic Finnish tradition. Three cold plunge pools maintained at 45 to 55°F provide the essential contrast therapy element. A 1,000-square-foot deck with views of Cathedral Ledge and White Horse Ledge creates a spectacular outdoor space where guests move between saunas and plunges under New Hampshire’s mountain skies. A Nordic café and bar serving beers, mocktails, snacks, and sauna stew bowls, alongside a community fire pit, complete one of New England’s most thoughtfully realized wellness destinations.
White Mountain Sauna Haus operates walk-in only — no reservations required — with guests welcome to stay as long as they wish. The typical visit is 1 to 2 hours. Open Monday, Thursday, and Friday noon to 9 p.m.; Saturday and Sunday 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. At capacity (24 guests) a waitlist forms.
