KiiN Sauna operates in Fairfield, on the Connecticut coast in the stretch of Fairfield County that commutes to both New York and Stamford.

This part of Connecticut has a dense concentration of wellness facilities, driven by an affluent population with a strong appetite for recovery and longevity services. Most of that provision is infrared cabins attached to medical spas and recovery studios; dedicated sauna operations working in the traditional lineage are considerably rarer here than the population would suggest.

The distinction is worth understanding. An infrared cabin heats the body directly at around 130°F and produces a gentle, extended sweat. A traditional sauna heats the air and the stones to 180°F or more, with water thrown periodically to produce löyly — a sharp burst of steam that raises perceived temperature briefly and dramatically. They are different practices that happen to share a name.

Fairfield has a long Long Island Sound shoreline, with beaches at Penfield, Jennings and Sasco Hill. Sound water is warmer than the open Atlantic but still cold enough through much of the year to serve the cold half of a circuit.
