116 Restore takes its name from the road it sits on — Vermont Route 116, running south from Burlington through Hinesburg and the farm country below it.

The facility runs sauna and cold plunge as a contrast circuit, and it operates around the clock, which is unusual outside major cities and says something about who it serves. Hinesburg is a town of about five thousand in Chittenden County’s southern reach, close enough to Burlington to commute and rural enough to have working dairy farms.

Twenty-four hour access changes how the practice fits into a week. Heat exposure produces its effects through repetition rather than through any single remarkable session, and the largest determinant of whether someone maintains the habit is how easily it fits around everything else. A facility with no closing time removes most of that friction.
