The Glastonbury beem studio serves the towns east of the Connecticut River, an area that has grown steadily as Hartford’s suburbs spread across the water.

The beem format is private infrared suites with an emphasis on light as well as heat. Standard infrared cabins emit far-infrared, which the body registers simply as warmth; beem adds near-infrared and visible red wavelengths aimed at claimed cellular and dermatological effects. The evidence for red light therapy is genuinely developing rather than either established or absent, and is stronger for skin applications than for the systemic claims sometimes made.

As an experience it is gentle and private. Sessions are booked by the slot, the suite is yours alone, and there is nothing communal about it — a considerable distance from the bathhouse tradition, and a deliberate one.

Glastonbury sits on the east bank of the Connecticut River with substantial farmland still in production, notably the orchards along Main Street. It is roughly fifteen minutes from downtown Hartford.

Booking runs through the chain’s system, and memberships price better than drop-ins for regular use.
