The Providence Bodhi Spa sits on the city’s east side and runs the same water-cure circuit as the Norwood location — a sequence of pools and heat sources moved through repeatedly rather than a single booked treatment.
The circuit model has a long history in continental Europe, where spa towns were built around exactly this idea, and it is markedly different from the American day-spa convention of one therapist and one table. Here the facility is the treatment. Guests cycle between hot mineral water, cold plunge, steam and dry heat over an hour or more, and the alternation is where the effect is claimed to sit.
It is also a more sociable format. Because everyone is moving through the same circuit at their own pace, the space works for pairs and small groups in a way a massage appointment does not.
Providence’s east side sits near Brown University and the RISD campus, walkable from downtown and well supplied with places to eat afterwards — worth planning for, since the circuit tends to leave people hungry.
Timed admission rather than appointments is the norm. Confirm the session length and swimwear policy before arriving.
